Banned Berry
Brand Buildout
-
In a saturated market, an unknown brand with a bold new flavor turns to AdLab to spark trial in college markets, uncover its core audience, and invent a category of its own.
-
Get a taste for the unexpected with Banned Berry – a natural and cultural extension of who you are.
-
Banned Berry delivers the right blend of taste and mysterious personality that appeals to those who don’t always follow the societal norms of alcohol consumption. Their motto? You don’t need alcohol to be bold. Just be yourself and enjoy Banned Berry in any way you see fit.
The Process
Below is the full deck presented to the client, Banned Berry, a startup beverage company. As an Art Director for Boston University AdLab, I worked hands-on, alongside a team, to strategically build out their brand image—from the ground up. Please see slides 10-34 for our extensive logo exploration throughout the semester.
The research began with a taste-test event at our local bar, where participants were asked to try variations of the product, interact with related visual stimuli, and participate in a focus group. My creative team and I designed deliverables for this event to aid our strategists' research—including posters of mood boards, campaign concepts, logo testing, packaging designs, as well as flavor-pairing menus and taste cards (see video on slide 40).
